Transportation Systems for Livable Communities
10/18/2010 – 10/19/2010
Washington, DC, USA
Transportation to enhance livability has been a common theme in recent years and is an emphasis area for the current Administration. The concept embraces cognate notions such as sustainability, quality of life, the character of place, and the health of communities. Research relating to transportation's interaction with community livability is occurring in a wide variety of venues, making communication among researchers difficult and making it hard for interested transportation practitioners to access the findings of relevant research. This conference will bring together researchers and practitioners interested in this topic to provide a timely opportunity to share research results, explore practical challenges, and identify potentially promising directions for future research.
