The Safe Routes to School National Partnership will be issuing a new resource guide in June called "Implementing Safe Routes to School in Low-Income Schools and Communities." As part of the launch of the resource guide, the Partnership will be holding two webinars to highlight some promising practices and creative strategies that have been successfully employed in low-income communities.

In this first of two webinars, you will hear from two local experts:

  • Nora Cody, Safe Routes to School Director, TransForm, Alameda County, CA - speaking about strategies to engage parents as volunteers and champions for Safe Routes to School
  • Nikki Trevino, Program Coordinator, Austin Healthy Adolescent Initiative, Austin, TX - speaking about their efforts to reduce crime and violence around Zavala Elementary School and improve safety for children walking and bicycling.
