Bicycling on Freeways
Bicycling on Interstates and Freeways in Texas is Allowed (Discouraged, but not prohibited).
Exceptions Include:
Generally discouraged. A city has the authority to prohibit use of controlled access highways, and most large urban areas have such an ordinance in place pertaining to the main lanes of interstated in their city limits. There are signs in place and there are often frontage roads for bicycles to use in lieu.
