Accessible Pedestrian Signals

The Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century -- TEA-21, the successor to ISTEA -- directs that pedestrian safety considerations, including the installation of audible traffic signals, where appropriate, be included in new transportation plans and projects [Sec. 1202(g)(2)].
